The Abyssal Forest is level eight in Doom: The Dark Ages, and while it’s one of the shorter chapters, it hides one of the more puzzle-y toys in the game. There’s only one toy to collect here, but it’s easy to miss if you’re not exploring the edges of the map or looking out for shield-based interaction cues.
Here’s exactly where to find the Witch Toy and how to unlock it.
Witch Toy Location – Abyssal Forest
You’ll reach the barracks area partway through the level, where you're required to climb up some old ruined structures to interact with a massive cannon. Before you launch that payload, look off to the side of the area, there’s a narrow path hugging the side of the mountain.
Follow that trail carefully. You’ll reach a small stone room with a locked collectible pod inside. That’s your Witch Toy.
But it’s not a free grab… You’ve got to solve a simple shield puzzle first.
How to Unlock the Witch Toy Room
Look up inside the room and find a hanging chain
Throw your shield at the chain to reveal a hidden shield switch
Then throw your shield again into the switch to activate the pod
With the puzzle solved, the toy pod will open. Walk up and claim the Witch Toy

It’s a spooky little figure with a long hat and glowing eyes; probably one of the creepier collectibles in the game. If you’re aiming for the Toy Collector achievement, you’ll need this one.
Final Blurb
The Witch Toy in the Abyssal Forest is one of the easiest to miss since it’s off the beaten path and tucked behind a small puzzle. Keep your shield sharp, your eyes open, and don’t ignore side paths—even in a short level like this. The rest of the toys won’t collect themselves.
