Analysis: Mantis Nerf Season 1 Patch for Marvel Rivals

Mantis got a nerf in Marvel Rivals that reduces her movement speed boost from her passive ability, Nature’s Favor. Here’s a quick rundown of their changes after the Season 1 patch in January 2025.

What Changed?

The movement speed boost from Mantis’s Nature’s Favor passive was reduced from 2.5 meters per second to 1.5 meters per second. This means she now moves more slowly when her passive is active.

Impact of the Nerf

  1. Slower Mobility
Mantis will no longer be able to move as quickly around the map. This makes it harder for her to reposition during fights or escape danger.

  2. Harder to Support Teammates
Since she can’t move as fast, Mantis players will find it more difficult to quickly get to teammates who need healing or support during battles.

  3. Weaker at Dodging Attacks
The reduced speed also makes it tougher for Mantis to avoid enemy attacks, especially from characters who rely on high damage bursts or crowd control.

Our Thoughts

This nerf slows Mantis down and worse at moving around and helping teammates. You’ll need to be more careful with positioning and choosing when to do what since she won’t be able to escape or dodge as easily as before. Despite the nerf, Mantis is still ok, but not as good as she was.
