Blue Archive Goz Guide

Blue Archive Goz Guide

Written by Rahul Gupta

Goz is a Mystic-type raid boss in Blue Archive that turns raid battles into chaos with clones, color zones, trains, and a hat trick that could ruin your entire run. He punishes uncoordinated teams but rewards well-structured squads with consistent, repeatable clears.

This guide covers every mechanic, optimal units, and phase-specific strategies, written for all players from beginner to Insane.

Goz Raid Mechanics

Goz has low DEF and heals very little, but his raw damage and clone trickery make him one of the most punishing Mystic bosses. Most of his attacks are avoidable if you bring units with the right tools.

You’ll need three things to win:

  • Barriers to reduce Goz's incoming damage by 75%

  • Reposition skills to dodge trains, bombs, and shuffle attacks

  • Focus Fire to hit the real clone in Phase Two

Goz Phase Breakdown

Phase One: Trains, Bombs, and AoE Wipeouts

  • Scream Riders travel in a straight line and deal heavy damage

  • Targeted bombs are marked and land hard unless dodged

  • Add spawns arrive mid-phase, often during attacks

You need barrier and reposition support here. Auto-play fails often.

Phase Two: Clones and Colored Zones

  • Goz creates three clones with identical movement. Only one takes damage.

  • Three Light Monte: If you guess wrong, the clone explodes and stuns your team

  • Magical Coin Hats: You must move students to the correct color zone or get wiped

Use Focus Fire on the real clone when you find it. Adjust game speed if needed. One wrong guess can wipe your team.

Top Units for Goz Raid

Tomoe (Qipao) – Flexible barrier and reposition

Suggested Team Comps

Standard Setup

  • Izuna (Swimsuit)

  • Hasumi (Track)

  • Yuuka (Gym)

  • Shizuko (Swimsuit)

  • Kotori

  • Ako

Budget-Friendly

  • Izuna (Swimsuit)

  • Hasumi (Track)

  • Kotori

  • Fuuka

  • Eimi (Swimsuit)

  • Tsubaki

Tip: Focus Fire isn’t optional. Either bring Izuna, Noa, or another unit with the skill.

Goz Strategy: Step-by-Step

Phase One

  • Use reposition skills when scream trains are inbound

  • Activate barrier before bombs land

  • Clear adds with AoE or ignore them using Focus Fire

  • Time skills around telegraphed EX animations

Phase Two

  • Focus Fire the first clone

  • If damage is 0, rotate targets

  • Use reposition before Magical Coin Hats

  • Move to the safe color zone before it explodes

  • Watch game speed to read cues properly

New Player Tips

  1. Use free units
Hasumi (Track) is excellent for Phase Two damage

  2. Avoid overinvesting
Focus on 6 core students and raise them first

  3. Manual mode helps
Use manual to dodge and reposition at the right time

  4. Barrier > Healing
Barriers cut Goz’s damage. Healing alone won’t save you

  5. Join a Club
Club members often share team comps and scoring strategies

Common Mistakes

  • Ignoring clones: Without Focus Fire, most attacks whiff

  • Mistiming EX skills: Don’t blow cooldowns right before a stun

  • No shield or movement: Reposition is non-negotiable

  • Guessing color zones: Watch for the real Goz’s original spot

Resource Management

  • Level Mystic DPS first

  • Prioritize units with low-cost reposition or barrier

  • Pre-load EX skills before Phase Two

  • Build cooldown timers around Goz’s train cycle

Final Blurb

Goz demands attention and precision but becomes easy to loop once you learn his patterns. Stick to Mystic DPS, bring shield and reposition, and you’ll get solid clears even without maxed units. Focus Fire is your MVP every time.

One player beat Insane Goz while auto-play ignored all the wrong clones, but don’t count on luck. Bring the right tools and Goz will go down clean.

FAQ

What damage type is Goz weak to?

Mystic. All recommended DPS units are Mystic-type.

Is barrier really that strong?

Yes. Goz takes 75% damage off when a barrier is up.

Do I need Focus Fire?

Yes. Without it, your team may waste all damage on clones.

Which student gives both barrier and reposition?

Shizuko (Swimsuit), Kotori, and Yuuka (Gym) are top picks.

Can I use auto-play?

Not safely. Manual is required on most difficulties.
