To change your skin in Elden Ring Nightreign, you need to unlock the dressing room at Roundtable Hold by defeating two Nightlords. After that, you can interact with a mirror to equip new skins, but each one costs a hefty chunk of Murk.
Here’s how it works and what you’ll need to grind for.
How to Unlock Skin Changing (AKA Outfits)
Beat Two Nightlords
The first step is progression. You’ll unlock the feature after defeating any two Nightlords. You’ll start with Gladius since he's required to move forward in the story.
Once your second Nightlord is down, head back to Roundtable Hold. The Iron Menial will show up with a message. He’ll tell you he’s set up a new room in the east wing.
Use the Mirror
Go to the newly opened dressing room on the east side of Roundtable Hold. There’s a mirror inside. Interact with it and choose Change Garb to access the customization menu.
You’ll now see your character, their current outfit, and available skins.
Skin Options and Murk Costs
Each character has three basic skin options to start:
Default
Dawn Skin – 14,000 Murk
Darkness Skin – 35,000 Murk
That’s 49,000 Murk per character just to own all three.
If you're trying to get every skin for all eight characters, you’ll need a ridiculous 392,000 Murk. For comparison, a full Nightreign run might give you just 2,000 Murk if you do well.
So yes, prepare to grind.
Best Way to Use Murk
Focus on your main character first. Pick your favorite skin and save up for it. If you like the Dawn version more than Darkness, that’s 21,000 Murk saved right away.
Skins don’t change your stats, but they’re permanent once unlocked and can be previewed before buying.
As you progress, new skins unlock at higher costs. These are mostly cosmetic, but some are tied to hidden achievements and late-game content.
Final Blurb
You can’t change skins in Nightreign right away. You’ll need to prove yourself in battle first by downing two Nightlords. After that, it’s just a matter of saving up Murk and picking your favorite look. Just remember... this game doesn’t hand things out easy. Fashion has a price here, and it’s not cheap.
