FragPunk's Converter works like the bomb in other hero shooters, but with a few twists. If you're on the Defending team, knowing the exact defuse time can be the difference between victory and a humiliating loss.

How Long Does Defusing Take?

Defusing the Converter in FragPunk is a tense, do-or-die moment. It takes exactly 5 seconds to fully defuse it, but there’s a catch—there’s no partial progress. If you start defusing and let go of the button, even for a split second, you’ll have to start from zero again. That means every defuse attempt is an all-or-nothing gamble.

To get the job done, you need to stay close to the Converter and hold the Defuse button. By default, that’s Down on the D-Pad for controllers or "4" on a keyboard.

Tips for Defusing the Converter

  • Clear enemies first – Defusing in the open without backup is a quick way to get eliminated.

  • Fake defuse to bait enemies – Tap the defuse button and stop to lure out hiding Attackers.

  • Use Shard Cards wisely – Some cards can slow down enemies or give you cover while defusing.

  • Stick together – A teammate covering you makes defusing way easier.

What Happens If Time Runs Out?

If the Converter isn't defused before the 50-second detonation timer expires, the Attackers win the round instantly—no matter how many Defenders are left. So, if you're on Defense, don't wait too long to make your move.
