If FragPunk keeps crashing or even gives you a blue screen, you’re not alone. If it’s random crashes, network errors, or full system failures, here are the most common fixes.
1. Switch to DirectX 11
If you’re using DirectX 12, switch back to DX11.
Many players report that DX12 causes instability, while DX11 runs smoothly.
To change it:
Open FragPunk Settings.
Look for Graphics or Display Options.
Switch DirectX version to DX11 and restart the game.
2. Update Your Drivers
Graphics drivers – Make sure you have the latest NVIDIA or AMD drivers.
Windows updates – If your system is outdated, crashes are more likely.
3. Check for Overheating
If your GPU or CPU is overheating, it can cause crashes.
Run a temperature monitor tool while playing.
If temps are high, try:
Cleaning dust from your PC.
Lowering graphics settings.
Checking for proper ventilation.
4. Verify Game Files
A corrupted file can cause crashes.
On Steam:
Right-click FragPunk in your library.
Select Properties → Installed Files → Verify integrity of game files.
Wait for Steam to repair any broken files.
5. Disable Overlays & Background Apps
Turn off overlays from Discord, Steam, or NVIDIA.
Close any unnecessary background programs while playing.
6. Run the Game as Administrator
Right-click FragPunk.exe → Run as Administrator.
This helps if the game is struggling with permissions.
7. Reinstall the Game
If nothing else works, uninstall and reinstall FragPunk.
Make sure to delete leftover files before reinstalling.
Extra Fixes for Linux Players
Use GE-Proton 9-25 – Some Linux users find this version works better.
Try Experimental Proton Versions – Different versions may reduce crashes.
If crashes keep happening after trying everything, the issue might be on the developer’s end, so keep an eye out for updates or patches.
