Madoka Magica Magia Exedra Tips and Tricks

Written by Jason B.

These tips and tricks for Madoka Magica Magia Exedra cover everything new players and beginners need to start strong, build a real team, and avoid wasting pulls or resources. From reroll targets to combat mechanics, this guide breaks down what actually matters and what you can skip.

Now here’s how to get ahead without getting burned.

Best Reroll Targets and Starter Pull Advice

You start with 5 star Breaker Madoka and a guaranteed 5 star from your first 10-pull. Use that to your advantage. If you’re rerolling, try for Homura (ST burst) or Oriko (AOE burst). They offer more variety than double Madoka, since both the free and rate-up versions share similar skills.

Note: You can read our Reroll Guide here.

Reroll Fast, Reroll Smart

Go to Settings > Options > Delete Account to reset. You don’t need to uninstall. After the first run, tutorials are skippable aside from 5 minutes of dialogue. Expect about 7–10 minutes per reroll attempt depending on device speed.

Gacha, Pity, and Currency

Ten pulls cost 3000 gems. Pity hits at 200 pulls. That’s 60,000 gems to guarantee a rate-up unit. Daily gems give around 50, weekly gives 150, and each campaign stage gives 30 once. Chapter bosses award 300. Character frame milestones give 1000 each.

You get two monthly cards; one for $3 and one for $20. The $3 one gives 30 gems per day. The $20 one gives 100 daily and a random 5 star if you keep it active for 3 months. The first month of both cards is free, but you must cancel manually.

Magia Keys

These are limited-time items that guarantee a 4 or 5 star. The 4 star key is common, the 5 star is rare. Use them early; don’t let them expire. You’ll know you can use one if the summon banner displays a key icon in the corner.

Classes and Team Roles

There are six classes: Attacker, Breaker, Buffer, Debuffer, Defender, Healer. Teams hold five units.

Breakers are essential for boss fights since they shatter enemy toughness bars faster. Every class can chip at it, but Breakers scale harder with toughness damage.

Attackers do pure damage. Defenders are your only real tanks for now—no 5 star healers exist yet. Buffers and debuffers are rare, but strong. One buffs crit rate and crit damage. One can stun every two turns, guaranteed.

My team is two Breakers, one Attacker, one Defender, one Debuffer. It clears everything so far.

Combat Flow

Normal attacks give skill points. Skills consume them. Ultimates charge with both types but build faster from skills.

Enemy turn order shifts later in the game. You act first in early campaign, but unless you use speed buffs, enemies will start outpacing you in harder content.

You can auto most stages. Area bosses and chapter bosses are manual-only. You can auto battler mode bosses after beating them once, and you can skip farm bosses five times per day if you've already cleared them.

Farming Priorities

There are two efficient farming stages. One gives XP for character levels. The other drops skill materials and gold. Both cost stamina. Do these daily.

There’s also a bond farming stage. Just repeat a boss you’ve cleared before. After the first clear, you can skip it five times daily. Bond unlocks stats and small rewards over time.

Portraits and Gear

Portraits are character-specific gear. Most early ones are bad. They start at 0 ascension and must be raised through drops in campaign or bought in event shops. The stats scale badly until you ascend them.

You also unlock weapons naturally by playing through campaign. These match the characters and are tied to frame progression.

Campaign and Progression

Each chapter has three floors and a boss floor. Each floor has around 10 stages including side missions and mini-bosses.

Finish the full campaign and you’ll unlock a fully ascended 5 star Madoka and a 5 star Magia Key. That’s a strong foundation for F2P players.

Other Notes

If your damage is low, raise your DPS unit’s Magic level. Magic boosts skill and ult scaling more than just leveling alone. Always invest in DPS first. Upgrade your tanks later if you’re dying.

You’ll hit a wall at player level 25. XP gain slows down, and fights take longer due to enemy scaling. Push through with better teams and upgrades.

Final Blurb

Start strong by picking your gacha targets wisely, building around Breakers, and skipping trash pulls. Play daily, prioritize campaign clears, and don’t let keys expire. Rerolling takes minutes, but a good starter team saves weeks of pain.

FAQ

How many pulls do I need for pity?

200 pulls total. After that, you can pick the rate-up 5 star manually.

Can I auto boss fights?

Only after beating them once, and only on battler difficulty.

Are 4 stars usable?

Yes, but 5 stars dominate in power and utility. Use 4 stars to fill roles until you get better units.

What’s the best class setup?

One Defender, one DPS, two Breakers, one utility (Buffer or Debuffer).

Can I skip cutscenes?

Only after the first full tutorial. Future rerolls are fast.

Do passes charge automatically?

Yes. First month is free, but cancel manually or you’ll get charged.

Do portraits matter?

Eventually. Early portraits are bad, but ascended ones boost stats a lot. Prioritize campaign ascension first.
