Mini Royale: How to Use Controller Support

You’ll be happy to know that Mini Royale does have controller support, but it’s not fully built-in just yet. At launch, the game has limited native support, so if you plug in your controller and nothing happens, don’t panic. There’s a workaround that gets things running smoothly, especially if you’re playing through Steam.
How to Use a Controller in Mini Royale
If you're on Steam, here’s the quick setup:
Open Steam and go to Settings > Controller > General Controller Settings
Enable all controller types (Xbox, PlayStation, Switch)
If Mini Royale isn’t a Steam game, click Add a Non-Steam Game and add it to your library
In your Steam Library, find the game and make sure it shows a controller icon
Click on the icon and enable Steam Input
Choose Gamepad layout, apply it, and back out
Launch the game and you're good to go
If your controller isn’t being detected, try unplugging and replugging it—Steam should update the icon instantly if it connects properly.
This setup works great with PS5, Xbox, and other standard controllers as long as Steam Input is enabled.
Final Blurb
Controller support in Mini Royale is there, but it takes a little effort to get it working right now. Steam Input is your best friend. With a quick setup and a few clicks, you can run and gun in comfort—just don’t forget to check for that controller icon before you load into battle.
