In Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, you’ll automatically receive the Mutt side quest after the tutorial. Your goal is to track down your lost dog by following clues and speaking with locals across the region. Here’s a simple step-by-step guide on where to get Mutt and the quest walkthrough.
Step 1: Return to the Last Spot You Saw Mutt
Head west past Bozhena’s house and follow the path along the water.
You’ll find a dead deer with bite marks, suggesting Mutt was nearby.
Return to Bozhena and ask if she has seen him.
Step 2: Ask Around for Clues
Zhelejov Wagoners' Inn (North of Zhelejov)
Talk to Innkeeper Lawrence about Mutt.
He mentions wolves in the area, but nothing useful.
Fisherman at Vidlak Lake (Northwest of Zhelejov)
The fisherman and his wife haven't seen Mutt.
They suggest talking to Siegfried, the shepherd.
Step 3: Speak to Siegfried
Travel north along the river until you reach Siegfried’s house.
He confirms a wolf pack with a dog but needs bait to lure them.
Step 4: Bait the Wolves
Siegfried won’t give you a smart sheep, but you can use Ignatius, a “less intelligent” sheep.
Alternative: Use regular meat as bait.
Set up the bait northwest of Siegfried’s house and hide in the bushes.
Battle the Wolves
After time passes, wolves and a dog appear.
Kill at least two wolves before they retreat.
If you let Ignatius die, Siegfried will be unhappy.
Mutt Wasn’t There!
If you didn’t kill all the wolves, you can lie to Siegfried.
He suggests speaking to Gamekeeper Vostatek for more information.
Step 5: Find Gamekeeper Vostatek
Southwest of Siegfried’s house, near the fisherman’s location.
If you haven’t done the Lackey side quest, complete it first.
Vostatek mentions another wolf pack near the Nomads’ Camp.
Step 6: Travel to the Wolf Cave
Follow the path southwest of Vostatek’s house, past Vidlak Lake.
Loop east toward the Nomads’ Camp.
Enter the cave to finally reunite with Mutt!
Step 7: Fight Off the Wolves
A pack of wolves attacks as Mutt emerges.
Use your weapons and Mutt’s new commands to fight.
Once all wolves are dead or run away, the quest completes.
Final Tips
Loot the cave for valuable items before leaving.
Learn Mutt’s commands to use in future battles.
