OSRS How to Get Kudos Guide

Written by Andrew Hammel

You can earn Kudos in Old School RuneScape by helping the Varrock Museum. Kudos are needed to unlock Fossil Island and other content. The current max is 230 Kudos for members.

Clean Uncleaned Finds

Museum Ground Floor (After The Dig Site)

  • Wear gloves and leather boots

  • Grab a trowel, specimen brush, and rock pick from the tool rack

  • Use uncleaned finds on specimen tables

You need to find and display five unique items:

  • Pottery

  • Old Coin

  • Ancient Coin

  • Old Symbol

  • Ancient Symbol

Each gives 10 Kudos. Total: 50 Kudos.

Complete the Natural History Quiz

Basement Floor

Talk to Orlando Smith to start the quiz.

Each display case has questions about the creatures shown. Answering correctly gives 2 Kudos per exhibit.

There are 14 displays. Total: 28 Kudos.

Completing the quiz also gives 1,000 Slayer and Hunter XP.

Turn in Ancient Relics

Museum Ground Floor (Post-Below Ice Mountain)

Mine Barronite in Camdozaal, crush it, and you may get relics.

Give each unique relic to Curator Haig Halen:

  • Ancient globe

  • Ancient ledger

  • Ancient astroscope

  • Ancient treatise

  • Ancient carcanet

Each gives 1 Kudos and 200 coins. Total: 5 Kudos.

This is the only Kudos method for free-to-play players.

Complete Timeline Displays

Museum Second Floor

Talk to Historian Minas after finishing certain quests.

Some also reward XP lamps if you meet level requirements.

Types of displays:

Each display also gives an XP lamp.
