PEAK How to Use the Piton

Written by Jason B.

The piton is a climbing tool in PEAK that lets you recover stamina while scaling walls. Just be aware... it can break if used for too long.

Here’s how the Piton works in the game PEAK.

What the Piton Does

The piton is a single-use exploration item.

You can place it on a climbable surface while going up a steep wall. Once placed, it gives you a short rest point where you can hang and recover stamina before continuing.

This is helpful when your stamina is running low and you're mid-ascent with nowhere to stop.

How to Place the Piton

To use the piton:

  • Equip it from your inventory

  • Face a valid surface while climbing

  • Press the interact key when prompted

It won’t place on every surface, so try using it on flatter cliff walls or rock faces. If nothing happens, reposition slightly.

Once placed, you can stop holding movement and let your stamina refill.

Pitons Can Break

The piton is not permanent.

It can snap if you hang on it too long or if it’s used by too many players in a short time. If it breaks, you’ll fall,so don’t rely on it for too long.

Use it as a quick breather, not a camping spot.

Only Use When You Need To

Pitons are not super common, and you can only carry so much.

Try to save them for long climbs with no obvious resting ledges. Wasting them early might leave you in trouble later.

Final Blurb

The piton in PEAK is a lifesaver during tough climbs, but it’s not foolproof. Place it wisely, recover fast, and keep moving... before it breaks and sends you flying.
