Rust: How to Quick Loot
Quick looting, or "Hover Loot," in Rust is a super helpful way to save time when grabbing items from boxes, player bodies, or other containers. Here’s a step-by-step guide to set it up and use it:
Step 1: Open the Settings
Go to Options from the main menu or in-game.
Click on the Controls tab.
Step 2: Find Hover Loot
Scroll down in the Controls menu until you see the option labeled Hover Loot.
This is the setting that lets you loot quickly by hovering over items.
Step 3: Assign a Key
Set a hotkey for Hover Loot. The default is often H, but you can pick a key that’s easier for you to use.
Once assigned, you can use this key to quickly loot by hovering your cursor over an item.
Step 4: Advanced Tip – Use Left Mouse Click
For experienced players you can reassign Hover Loot to your left mouse button.
This makes looting even faster because all you have to do is move your mouse over the loot, and it will automatically transfer items from containers or bodies.
Note: This won’t take items from your inventory accidentally. You’ll still need to right-click or manually move items into your own inventory.
When to Use Quick Loot
Hover Loot is great for fast looting during raids or combat situations where every second counts.
Be cautious, though. Switching between control settings for Hover Loot and regular gameplay may be necessary depending on the situation.
Quick looting is a fantastic way to speed up gameplay and focus on the action rather than managing your inventory. Experiment with keybinds to find what works best for you.
