Schedule 1: How to Pick Up Items

Note: This guide covers content from Schedule 1, a satirical video game set in a fictional world. All items, recipes, and references are entirely made up and exist only in the game. Please don’t try any of this in real life.
Let’s be honest: Schedule 1 makes something as simple as picking up furniture feel like you’re defusing a bomb. But once you know the trick, it’s not so bad. Here's how to do it without rage-quitting.

How to Pick Things Up
Look straight at the item you want to move
Hold the right mouse button
A small circle will appear in the center of your screen
Once it fills, the object will go into your inventory
That’s it. No dragging, no lifting animations. Just stare and hold.
If it doesn’t work, here’s why:
The item might have stuff on it (clear it off first)
Some objects just can’t be picked up (like the sink or fixed decor)
If it’s a trash can, make sure it’s empty
This also applies to things like your storage racks, mixing tables, and packaging stations. If they’re holding something—even just one jar—you can’t move them until they’re cleared out.
How to Throw Stuff Away
Bought something you don’t need? Too many chairs? Accidentally bought three sinks? Yeah, you’re not alone.
Here’s how to get rid of items:
Pick up the item using the right mouse button
Press Tab to open your phone
Or, look at the bottom-right corner of the screen
Drag the item into the little red discard box
There’s no confirmation popup, so once you drop it in, you’ve got about three seconds before it’s gone forever. Use that time wisely. Or don’t, and live with regret.
How to Save Space Like a Pro
Don’t waste money on small racks. Save up for Large Storage Racks
In early areas like the motel, keep it simple: one Packaging Station, a couple plants, that’s all you need
When you upgrade locations, you can still use the old place as a storage dump
Also: one bed is enough, even in multiplayer. This isn’t The Sims. Don’t clutter your base with extra furniture unless it’s absolutely necessary.
Final Blurb
Picking up items in Schedule 1 feels harder than it should be, but once you get the hang of it, it’s just another part of the grind. Clear off your stuff, hold right-click, and don’t trust the discard box unless you’re really sure.
