How PvP Works in Ashes of Creation

PvP runs on a flagging system that tracks every action between players. When you attack someone, you become flagged as a combatant. If you kill a player who didn’t fight back, you become corrupted. Corruption makes you weaker and more likely to drop gear when you die, so you can’t just go around killing everyone for fun.

Most PvP happens through planned events like caravans, sieges, and guild wars. These are fair fights where corruption doesn’t apply. You can still find open-world fights too, but they come with risk.
