Blackjacking is one of the fastest methods to train Thieving in Old School RuneScape, especially from levels 45 to 91. It may seem tricky at first, but with practice and the right setup, you’ll master it in no time. Here’s a guide for everything you need to know:

Why Blackjack?

  • Fast XP: Some of the best Thieving XP rates in the game for its level range.

  • Good Money: Rogue equipment doubles loot, increasing profits.

  • Low Requirements: No diaries needed, making it accessible to most players.

Requirements

  1. Quest Progress:

    • The Feud Quest: Partially complete this quest to unlock blackjacking.

  2. Equipment:

    • Blackjack: Any type of blackjack will work.

    • Rogue Outfit (optional): Doubles loot but doesn’t affect XP rates.

  3. Supplies:

    • Food: Bring plenty of noted food (lobsters or better) to un-note at the nearby merchant.

    • Coins: For un-noting food.

The Method

  1. Knockout & Pickpocket:

    • Right-click the bandit and select “Knock-Out.”

    • Once the bandit is knocked out, pickpocket them twice before they wake up.

    • Repeat this cycle.

    • Tip: Watch the XP drops for the perfect timing between pickpockets.

  2. Dealing with Failures:

    • If you fail to knock out the bandit, they will become aggressive.

    • Quickly knock them out again or use these methods to reset:

      • Pickpocket with a full inventory: Use noted food, coins, or brews to keep your inventory full, which prevents bandits from attacking.

      • Unequip Blackjack: Temporarily switch weapons to reset combat.

      • Run and Safe-Spot: Lure the bandit behind an object to lose aggression.

      • Spacebar Spam: If hit, spam spacebar to reset aggression faster.

Additional Tips

  • Bank Smart: Use the nearby merchant to un-note food and continue blackjacking without long breaks.

  • Practice Timing: Start slow, focusing on getting the timing right between knockouts and pickpockets. Speed comes with practice.

Why Use Blackjacking?

  • High XP Rates: Levels 45–71: ~125k XP/hour; Levels 71–91: ~250k+ XP/hour.

  • Efficient Training: No need for diary unlocks or expensive setups.

  • Great for GP: Combined with the Rogue outfit, you’ll make solid money along the way.

With these tips, blackjacking can become an easy and fast way to train your Thieving skill while earning decent GP. Practice a little, and soon you’ll see why it’s so great.
