The Gear Wrench is one of those sneaky little items in Blue Prince that doesn’t scream for attention but quietly changes how your mechanical rooms behave behind the scenes. It’s not flashy, but it knows what it’s doing, and you can get one throughout the game but most commonly in the tool shed.

What the Gear Wrench Does
If you're holding a Gear Wrench, it kicks in only when you draft and enter a Mechanical Room. When you do, it messes with the rarity rate of that room. Basically, it shifts the odds of how rare the room you're about to draft might be.
Think of it as having an opinion on what kind of Workshop, Laboratory, or Pump Room you should be walking into. Sometimes it bumps the rarity up (hello, Boiler Room), sometimes it tones it down. The outcome isn’t guaranteed, but the wrench definitely tilts the scale a bit.
When to use it
If you're trying to hunt rare Mechanical Rooms like the Boiler Room, Laboratory, or Security, this little wrench helps.
It's extra handy if you're stacking mechanical rooms to unlock something like the Mechanarium.
Combine it with rarity-affecting rooms like the Solarium for extra influence on your drafting odds.
