Construction used to be one of the hardest skills to train in RuneScape 3, requiring endless clicks and loads of effort. Thankfully, it’s much easier now thanks to the Fort Forinthry construction system (not to mention protean planks). This guide will show you the easiest and most laid-back way to train Construction from level 1 to 99/120.

Why Fort Forinthry Construction is the Best

  • AFK-Friendly: You can step away for up to 15 minutes at a time.

  • Good XP Rates: You’ll gain experience close to the older, click-intensive methods—without breaking your fingers!

  • Cost-Effective: It’s less expensive compared to other training methods.

At the Fort, you can rebuild and reinforce buildings to gain experience. Reinforcing a building means rebuilding it repeatedly for XP without changing the structure itself.

Before You Begin

  1. Complete the “New Foundations” Quest:

    • Unlocks Fort Forinthry and brings you to level 39 Construction.

  2. Gather Materials:

    • Frames (e.g., Normal, Sturdy, Magic, Elder).

    • Planks (e.g., Regular, Oak, Teak, or Mahogany).

    • These materials can be bought on the Grand Exchange.

How Fort Construction Works

  1. Build and Reinforce: Select a building at the Fort and reinforce it repeatedly to gain XP.

  2. Perfect Build Bonus: If you actively follow the yellow hotspots while building, you can gain up to 20% extra XP. But if you’re AFK, ignore this—just focus on the base XP.

  3. Boost XP with Higher Workshops:

    • Tier 2 Workshop: Grants 10% more XP.

    • Tier 3 Workshop: Grants 15% more XP.

Fast and Simple Leveling Path

Levels 39–40

  • Build a Tier 1 Guardhouse to reach level 40 quickly after completing the quest.

Levels 40–50

  • Reinforce Tier 1 Guardhouse:

    • Easy to build and great for early leveling.

    • Cost: Minimal.

Levels 50–60

  • Reinforce Tier 2 Kitchen:

    • Slightly more expensive, but better XP rates.

Levels 60–65

  • Reinforce Tier 3 Grove Cabins:

    • Higher XP, still AFK-friendly.

Levels 65–70

  • Reinforce Tier 2 Guardhouse:

    • Affordable and a great choice for mid-levels.

Levels 70–80

  • Reinforce Tier 2 Command Center:

    • Higher XP per hour; use this building for steady progress.

Levels 80–85

  • Reinforce Tier 3 Town Hall:

    • Choose this for maximum AFK time and good XP.

Levels 85–90

  • Reinforce Tier 3 Kitchen:

    • High XP per hour and easy to build.

Levels 90–99

  • Reinforce Tier 3 Chapel:

    • Best option for levels 90–99 due to its high XP rates.

    • Alternative: Use the Bonfire Workbench, but it requires more frequent clicks (18 per hour vs. 4 for the Chapel).

Costs and Efficiency

  • Cost: Building becomes more expensive at higher levels, especially with Elder Frames (levels 90–99 can cost up to 360M GP).

  • Cheaper Option: Stick to reinforcing Tier 3 Kitchens for half the cost, though the XP rates will be slightly lower.

  • Double XP Events: Train during these events to halve costs and double your XP gains.

Final Tips

  1. AFK Timer: Use the full 15 minutes of AFK time by being a member with a Jagex account.

  2. Save GP: Reinforce buildings like kitchens for cost-effective training.

  3. Double XP: Maximize gains during Double XP events.

This method is simple, relaxing, and efficient. If you’re looking for an easy way to train Construction in 2024, Fort Forinthry is the way to go! Happy building!
