Gordian Prism Guide - Last Epoch

The Gordian Prism isn’t your average off-hand Catalyst. It’s for Rune Masters who think regular Runic Invocation is too simple and want to turn every cast into a fireworks show. If you like explosions with a side of elemental chaos, this one’s for you.

What Does the Gordian Prism Do?

  • Forces Grand Prism Nova: Every time you directly cast a Three Rune Invocation, you’ll always trigger Grand Prism Nova instead of the usual random effect.

  • Elemental Conversion: The damage type depends on the runes you used:

    • Rah = Fire

    • Gon = Lightning

    • Heo = Cold
Example: If you use 2 Rah and 1 Heo, expect mostly fire with a bit of frostbite flair.

  • Status Ailments Galore:

    • Each Rah gives Ignite chance

    • Each Gon gives Shock chance

    • Each Heo gives Chill chance

  • Rune Saver: 10% chance per unique rune (Rah, Heo, Gon) to not consume runes when invoking.

  • Bonus stats:

    • Up to 60% increased Elemental Damage

    • Extra Ward Decay Threshold

    • A bit of Intelligence for good measure.

How to Get the Gordian Prism

Good news—it’s not that rare.

  • Random Drop: Fairly common across the game world.

  • Rune of Ascendance: About a 10% chance if you're targeting catalysts.

  • Stolen Lance Timeline: Look for echoes that reward "Unique or Set Wand or Catalyst." You’ll have around a 6% shot here.

It’s available as early as level 5, but you’ll need to be level 28 to actually use it.

How to Build Around Gordian Prism

  • Play a Rune Master: If you’re not, you’re just holding a fancy paperweight.

  • Focus on Runic Invocation: Direct-cast Three Rune Invocations to unleash Grand Prism Nova on demand.

  • Stack Elemental Damage: Since your Nova scales with elemental boosts, this is your bread and butter.

  • Prioritize Mana Management: Spamming Nova isn’t cheap, so get those mana sustain tools ready.

  • Think About Ailments: Build into Ignite, Shock, or Chill depending on your rune preferences.

Final Blurb

The Gordian Prism is perfect if you’re tired of leaving your Runic Invocations up to RNG. It turns every cast into a predictable—and deadly—elemental burst. Just remember, all that power comes at the cost of mana and careful rune management. If you enjoy watching enemies explode in a colorful display of fire, frost, and lightning, this Catalyst is your new best friend. If not… well, maybe stick to simpler toys.
