How Businesses Work in Schedule 1

In Schedule 1, growing your product is only half the hustle. The other half? Figuring out how to clean the cash. Once your ATM hits its weekly deposit limit, all that street money just sits there, unusable. That’s when businesses come into play.

They don’t earn you passive income. They don’t boost production. But they do let you launder your money, which is the only way to keep expanding your empire once the banks start asking questions.

What Businesses Do

Each business gives you a set amount of money you can launder every 24 in-game hours. You choose how much to launder, start the timer, and come back a day later to collect clean cash. The money gets added to your ATM balance, meaning you can deposit it like normal—no questions asked.

The launder timer continues ticking even when the in-game clock stops at 4 AM, so you can technically start a new launder cycle before the next full day rolls around. It's slow at first, but it's the most stable way to convert your earnings.

How to Unlock Businesses

You’ll unlock the laundering system the first time you hit your weekly deposit cap. After that, Uncle Nelson gives you a call, and the game nudges you toward Ray’s Realty, the local source for legitimate business fronts.

Once you visit Ray, you can browse a list of properties to purchase. Each business has a price tag and a maximum laundering amount it can process in one cycle. The better the business, the higher the cap—and the steeper the cost.

How to Launder Money

After buying a business, here's how you actually use it:

  1. Head to a PC in one of your properties.

  2. Access the laundering menu.

  3. Select the amount you want to clean, up to your business’s limit.

  4. Confirm the transaction.

  5. Wait 24 in-game hours for the laundering to complete.

  6. Your clean money appears in your ATM balance automatically.

That’s it. No trips back to the business. No extra steps. Just time and patience.

Business Options

There are currently four different businesses in the game:

  • The Laundromat is the cheapest option, with a low laundering cap. You’ll usually get access to this one first through the main story.

  • The Post Office and the Car Wash are mid-range options. They cost more but clean more per cycle, making them solid choices if you're earning fast.

  • Taco Ticklers is the premium option. It costs the most but also offers the highest laundering cap. It's not essential early on, but it’s helpful once you're making serious money.

Is Gambling a Real Alternative?

Technically, yes. You can gamble your dirty money at the casino. Any winnings you make are considered clean and can be deposited straight into the ATM.

But this is a gamble for a reason. You can lose more than you gain. It’s risky, unreliable, and better used as a last resort or side hobby. If you want to grow your business the right way, stick to laundering through owned businesses.

Final Blurb

Owning a business in Schedule 1 isn’t about making extra profit. It’s about survival. Once you hit your weekly deposit cap, your entire operation grinds to a halt unless you’ve got a business ready to clean your cash. Buy one early, use it often, and make sure your empire keeps running like a well-oiled, slightly illegal machine.
