New Game Plus (or New Game+) in Final Fantasy XIV lets you replay old story quests and job quests you’ve already completed. It’s a great way to revisit your favorite parts of the story or catch up on details you may have missed. Here’s how it works.

1. What Is New Game+?

New Game+ allows you to replay quests without resetting your character’s progress. You won’t lose your gear, levels, or progress in the game. It’s purely for experiencing the story again.

2. How to Unlock New Game+

To unlock New Game+, follow these steps:

  1. Reach Level 50 on any job.

  2. Complete the Main Story Quest (MSQ) “The Ultimate Weapon” from A Realm Reborn.

  3. Go to Western Thanalan (x12.0, y14.0) and talk to the NPC Wistful Whitebeard.

  4. Complete the quest “New Game+.”

Once you finish this quest, New Game+ will be unlocked in the Duty menu.

3. How to Start New Game+

After unlocking it:

  1. Open the Duty Menu and select New Game+.

  2. Choose the storyline you want to replay. Storylines are grouped by expansions and major content patches, such as:

    • A Realm Reborn (2.0–2.5)

    • Heavensward (3.0–3.5)

    • Stormblood (4.0–4.5)

    • Shadowbringers (5.0–5.5)

    • Endwalker (6.0–6.5)

  3. Click “Begin New Game+.” The chosen questline will appear in your Journal, and you can start replaying the quests.

4. What Can You Replay?

With New Game+, you can replay:

  • Main Story Quests (MSQ)

  • Side story quests for certain expansions

  • Job quests for combat classes

  • Some patch content (like raids or trials with important storylines)

5. What Do You Keep?

When you replay quests with New Game+:

  • You keep your current gear, gil, and levels.

  • Rewards from the quests (like gil or items) won’t be given again.

  • You can stop New Game+ anytime and return to your regular progress.

6. Why Use New Game+?

  • Relive the Story: Perfect if you missed details or want to enjoy the story again.

  • Catch Up on Lore: Great for understanding expansions before new content releases.

  • No Progress Loss: You can replay quests without resetting your character.

7. Stopping New Game+

If you want to exit New Game+ and return to normal gameplay:

  1. Open the Duty menu.

  2. Select “Exit New Game+.”
You can resume where you left off at any time.

New Game+ is a fun way to enjoy the story again while keeping all your progress. Whether you’re replaying to understand the lore or just for fun, it’s easy to dive back into your favorite quests.
