If roaming Cyrodiil by daylight feels too mainstream, why not trade your tan for fangs? Becoming a vampire in Oblivion Remastered is easier than you’d think… Just let something bite you and skip sunscreen forever.

How to Turn Into a Vampire

The fastest way to join the night crew is to visit Barren Cave, located east of the Imperial City on the road to Cheydinhal. Inside, you’ll find a couple of vampires more than happy to "share" their condition. Let them hit you until you contract Porphyric Hemophilia (you’ll see a message in the corner of your screen).

After that, wait 3 in-game days and then take a nap. When you wake up—surprise—you’re a vampire.

If cave crawling isn’t your thing, you can also get vampirism by completing Vicente Valtieri’s contracts in the Dark Brotherhood. But that’s the scenic route.

Vampire Perks

Being undead comes with some nice bonuses, especially if you enjoy sneaking around and looking mysterious:

  • +5 to skills like Sneak, Destruction, Strength, and more

  • 100% resistance to disease and paralysis

  • New spells at each stage of vampirism (like night vision and invisibility)

  • A little bit of resistance to normal weapons

Basically, you get stronger, sneakier, and a whole lot cooler—until the sun comes up.

The Downsides (Because Of Course)

Now for the fun-sucking part (pun intended):

  • Sunlight will roast you alive. Daytime strolls become a health hazard.

  • You’ll develop a serious weakness to fire—bad news when Oblivion gates are spewing flame-happy enemies.

  • At Stage 4, NPCs won’t even talk to you. It’s hard to save the world when everyone’s screaming and running away.

How to Feed as a Vampire

To avoid turning into a full-blown monster at Stage 4, you’ll need to feed regularly. Sneak into homes at night, find a sleeping NPC, and interact to feed. Each meal resets you back to Stage 1, where life (or un-life) is a bit easier.

Just don’t get caught mid-bite, or the guards will quickly remind you that vampires aren’t exactly welcome citizens.

Final Blurb

Becoming a vampire in Oblivion Remastered is a mix of power, perks, and avoiding sunny days like your life depends on it — because it does. If you enjoy sneaking around, using dark magic, and living that nocturnal lifestyle, vampirism might be your thing. Just remember: SPF 100 won’t save you now.
