How to Get a Horse in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2
The world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 is massive. If you plan on exploring it all on foot, you might as well start growing a second pair of legs now. A horse is absolutely essential unless you enjoy spending hours watching your character struggle uphill in full armor. Fortunately, there are a few ways to get a horse, and some methods are faster (and cheaper) than others.
Stealing a Temporary Horse
If you don’t have the patience to get your own horse the honest way, just steal one.
Head south of Troskowitz. You’ll find several horses just standing around, waiting for someone like you to come along.
Look around for witnesses. If no one’s watching, hop on and ride off.
Enjoy your new, not-so-legal transportation.
The downside? This isn’t a real, permanent horse. It won’t respond when you whistle, so the moment you get off, you’re walking again. If you want a horse that actually sticks around, there’s a better way.
Getting Pebbles Back
Pebbles, your old horse, is still out there waiting for you. You just need to know where to look.
Leave Troskowitz and head southwest to Semine.
Look for the fortress and stables on the west side of town.
Find Pebbles roaming in the stables.
Talk to Groom Ballatay. He’ll be either in the stable or in a nearby house under the stairs.
Now comes the fun part—talking your way into getting Pebbles for free.
Select "Be Reasonable." This is an easy speech check, and Ballatay should hand over the reins.
If it fails, reload your save and try again. Otherwise, you’ll be stuck paying 160 Groschen, and let’s be honest—you’d rather spend that money on beer.
Final Blurb
Stealing a horse is fast, but temporary. You’ll have to keep "borrowing" new ones.
Getting Pebbles back is free if you can talk your way through it.
If all else fails, 160 Groschen will get you a horse. But wouldn’t you rather gamble that money away in a dice game?
Now that you have a horse, the world of Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 just got a lot smaller. And if anyone asks, you totally earned that horse fair and square.
