The Mysterious Meteorite (also known as the moon rock) is a key item in the Memory of the Deep quest, found in the Emerald Stair region. Here’s a simple guide on how to find it:
1. Start the Quest
You can begin the quest in two ways:
Visit Josep Abaccio’s Farm: Head to the Coastal Farms southeast of Maxim's Claim to find Josep. He will tell you about missing revenants and ask for your help.
Visit Lake Lacuna: You can bypass Josep entirely by visiting Lake Lacuna northwest of Fior mes Iverno. Simply going to the lake can start the quest, and you’ll meet a stranger, the Giftbearer, who will give you more information.
2. Finding the Moon Rock
Speak to the Giftbearer: At Lake Lacuna, you’ll meet the Giftbearer, a priest of Ondra, standing by the docks. He’ll explain why revenants are drawn to the lake.
Dive into the Lake: Swim to the center of the lake and dive to the bottom. There, you’ll find the Mysterious Meteorite (moon rock).
If you didn’t speak to the Giftbearer before diving in, don’t worry. You can still read a note he left by the docks.
3. Deciding Who to Give the Moon Rock To
Once you have the moon rock, you have two choices:
Give it to Josep: If you give it to Josep, you’ll receive Chanter's Panpipes, a trinket that lets you summon a Phantom to fight for you. However, after resting, you’ll discover that the meteorite causes the revenants to become hostile, and Josep will be killed.
Give it to the Giftbearer: If you choose the Giftbearer, he plans to dispose of the meteorite to keep it out of harm's way. You’ll get 550 Suoles and, if you return after resting, the Statuette of Lament, a trinket that lets you stay underwater twice as long.
Best Choice:
For combat utility: Chanter's Panpipes is the best reward, adding a powerful ally to your team.
For a safer outcome: Giving the meteorite to the Giftbearer keeps everyone alive and grants you the Statuette of Lament, although it’s not as practical as the panpipes.
Now you know where to find the moon rock and how to decide the best option for your playthrough!
