Bird nests are everywhere in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2. Walk through a forest, and suddenly your map is cluttered with them. While they might seem like simple decoration, these nests can hold some pretty useful loot—eggs, lockpicks, sword parts, and even jewelry.

But if you don’t have a bow or crossbow yet, how do you knock them down? Simple: throw rocks.

How to Knock Down Nests Without a Bow

In the early game, you won’t have a ranged weapon right away. Instead, you can use stealth mode (C key) to throw rocks (G key). These rocks are normally meant to distract guards, but they work just as well for knocking down nests—turns out, physics applies to both guards and bird homes.

Obviously, if you have a ranged weapon, you can shoot the nests down with arrows as well.

Steps to knock down a nest with rocks:

  1. Look up and find the bird nest you want to knock down.

  2. Aim slightly above the nest. (Gravity exists.)

  3. Press G to throw a rock.

  4. If you miss, keep throwing—rocks are infinite, so no harm done.

That’s it. No need to waste arrows or bolts. Just keep flinging stones until the loot drops. This trick is especially useful early on before you get a bow, since nests can contain valuable items right when you need them most. Happy hunting!
