How to Open Local Map in Oblivion Remastered

If you're wondering where the local map button went in Oblivion Remastered, you're not alone. Bethesda decided to modernize things... by making it more confusing.
There’s no longer a dedicated key to instantly open your local map like in the original game. Instead, you have to zoom in on the world map until it transforms into the local map.
How to Open the Local Map
Open Your Map
Press M on PC or use the map button on your controller to open the world map.
Zoom In
Use your scroll wheel (PC) or the zoom buttons (usually triggers or bumpers on console).
Keep zooming until the game switches to the local map view.
Shortcut Tip
There's also a small circle button below the plus sign on the map screen. Clicking that will snap you straight to the local map without all the scrolling.
Why Is It Like This?
Great question. We agree it’s a strange design choice, but for now, that’s how you’ll have to navigate dungeons and cities. Hopefully, a future patch brings back a proper toggle.
Final Blurb
Bethesda just hid the local map behind a zoom lens. Until they rethink this, get ready to scroll like it’s 2005 again. If you need more tips for surviving Oblivion Remastered's quirks, you know where to find me.
