The duel with Erik is one of the most challenging fights in Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, but don’t worry, here’s a simple and straightforward guide on how to prepare and defeat Erik in the duel.

1. Preparation Is Key

  • Equip the Best Gear: Obviously you’ll want to make sure you have your best armor and weapons equipped. You can't change your gear once the fight starts, so ensure you're ready before the duel begins.

  • Potions: Bring any potions you have with you. You'll need them to heal during the fight, so don’t forget to add them to your pouch.

2. Play Defensively

  • Wait for Erik's Attack: Don’t try to initiate attacks; Erik will block and counter most of your moves. Stay on the defensive.

  • Perfect Block: Watch for the green shield above Erik when he's about to attack. Perfectly block his attack by timing it right. After a successful block, a blue sword icon will appear—attack immediately.

  • Master Strike: If you're comfortable with the Master Strike mechanic, use it when possible to deal damage.

3. Manage Your Stamina

  • Don’t Overextend: Your stamina is crucial. Don’t spam attacks when you’re low on stamina because Erik will take advantage of slow attacks.

  • Build Stamina: To build your stamina, focus on parrying Erik’s attacks instead of attacking back. This reduces his stamina while allowing you to regain yours.

4. Use the Battle Cry Perk (If Unlocked)

  • Damage Boost: If you’ve unlocked the Battle Cry perk, use it during the fight to boost your damage. This gives you an advantage for a few seconds after you use it.

5. Focus on Whittling Down Erik’s Stamina

  • Focus on Parrying: Erik’s stamina is key to his health. If you focus on wearing down his stamina bar, he’ll become more vulnerable to your attacks.

  • Watch for Blood on His Armor: When you see blood, particularly around Erik’s neck, you know you're close to breaking through his defenses. This is when he becomes easier to counter, but stay cautious—he can still hit hard.

6. Patience Is Crucial

  • Don’t Get Cocky: It can be tempting to attack too often when Erik is wounded, but be patient. Wait for a real opening and don't overcommit.

  • Multiple Attempts May Be Needed: Erik is tough, and it may take several tries to beat him. Don’t be discouraged if it takes a while to get the timing and rhythm right.

With patience, defensive play, and stamina management, you’ll eventually defeat Erik. It might take a few attempts, but by sticking to this strategy, you’ll come out victorious.
