Leaver Penalty Explained: What Happens When You Leave a Marvel Rivals Game Early?

Leaving a match early in Marvel Rivals comes with consequences. If you quit a game before it ends, the system will flag you as a deserter, which may result in temporary restrictions and increased penalties for repeated offenses.

First Time Leaving a Match

When you leave a match for the first time, you may not receive an immediate penalty beyond a warning. However, if you leave another game shortly after, more severe actions are taken.

Penalties for Leaving

Once you’ve been flagged as a deserter you’ll face the following consequences:

  • Time Restriction: You’ll be temporarily unable to queue for Quick Match, Plane, or Conquest modes. The initial penalty lasts 5 minutes.

  • Increased Penalties: If you leave additional matches, the penalty time will increase, meaning you’ll have to wait longer before being allowed to queue again.

If you’re considering leaving a game, think twice. The first quit might only result in a warning, but repeated offenses will lead to longer wait times before you can play again. Stay in the game, even if it’s not going well—you’ll avoid penalties and help your team finish strong.

Hopefully, this helps you understand the risks of leaving games early.
