PEAK Game Guide & Tips

PEAK Game Guide & Tips

Written by Jason B.

PEAK is a survival climbing game that drops you on an island and expects you to climb a mountain before the fog catches you. These tips and tricks will help you avoid common mistakes and survive your early climbs.

Work as a Team

Support each other or suffer for it

In co-op, always help your teammates. You can share food, drop items, heal each other, or pull them up ledges.

If someone climbs too far ahead, the Scoutmaster may appear... and he is not friendly.

Cook Your Food at Fires

Boost your stamina before climbing

You can cook food like coconuts and marshmallows at campfires. Cooked food gives more stamina than raw.

Use the small fire near spawn to cook early. Cooking more than once has no benefit.

Learn the Difference Between Rope and Chain Tools

Each tool serves a different purpose

  • Rope Cannon fires a rope upward or downward

  • Chain Launcher creates a horizontal chain bridge

Use rope for climbing height and chain for crossing wide gaps.

Loot Every Luggage Bag

Always check for supplies

Luggage bags hold rope tools, food, healing items, and more. Always loot them when you find one.

In co-op, press the middle mouse button to ping bags for your team.

Be Cautious with Food

Not everything is safe to eat

Some berries and mushrooms can poison or knock you out. If you fall asleep on a slope, your body might slide off the cliff.

Always try new food on flat ground.

Watch Out for Hazards

If it looks dangerous, it probably is

Avoid sea urchins, jellyfish, and orange plants. They can poison you or cause falls.

You can collect honeycomb for a strong stamina boost, but the bees are fast and aggressive.

Know How to Lunge

Use lunges when stamina is low

If you are just below a ledge and out of stamina, use the sprint button to lunge upward.

If that fails, try jumping quickly. It might save you... or it might end badly.

Don’t Trust Every Bridge

Some bridges break under pressure

Bridges can collapse if you stand on them too long. Cross quickly and do not stop in the middle.

If it shakes or creaks, move fast.

Use Tenderfoot to Learn the Map

Tenderfoot removes fog

Use the airport kiosk before starting to set the difficulty to Tenderfoot.

This lets you practice paths with no fog and fewer hazards.

Manage Your Backpack

Weight lowers your stamina bar

Carrying too much will reduce your stamina. Only keep what you need... food, healing, ropes, and key tools.

Drop anything that is not helping your climb.

Use Ancient Statues to Revive

Respawn teammates at statue checkpoints

At the top of each area, you can use a statue to revive all dead teammates. They come back with reduced max stamina.

If no one is dead, you still get a free item.

Final Blurb

PEAK is not gentle, especially when you are new. Stick together, stay fed, and drop anything that weighs you down.

If it moves, hisses, or glows... just don’t touch it.
