Ever bought a fancy new weapon or drone in R.E.P.O., only to use up all its energy and realize it’s now as useful as a paperweight? If you thought the only option was spending another $50,000 on a replacement, good news—you can recharge your gear instead.

That weird machine in the back of your truck? It’s not just decoration. Here’s how to get Energy Crystals and use them to keep your equipment running without going broke.

How to Get Energy Crystals

  • You can buy Energy Crystals at the Service Shop between levels.

  • They usually cost between $7,000 and $9,000—so, expensive, but way cheaper than rebuying gear.

  • For the first couple of levels, don’t bother. You won’t need them yet, so spend your cash on upgrades and healing instead.

  • By Level 3, you’ll likely have weapons and drones, so this is when you’ll want to start stocking up on Energy Crystals.

How to Use Energy Crystals

After buying Energy Crystals, you might notice they don’t show up in the truck with your other purchases. That’s because they’re already loaded into the recharge machine.

Here’s how to use them to recharge your equipment:

  1. Look at the back of the truck – The machine with the energy symbol will now have a partially filled meter, showing your stored Energy Crystals.

  2. Drop the depleted item into the basin on the left side of the machine – This works for stun guns, drones, and any other gear that needs a recharge.

  3. Wait a few seconds – The machine glows ominously, then your item is fully recharged and ready to go.

Since some high-end gear costs up to ~$50,000, recharging instead of rebuying can save you a ridiculous amount of money.

Final Blurb

Instead of treating your expensive gear like disposable batteries, invest in Energy Crystals and use the recharge machine. It’s cheaper, smarter, and won’t leave you stuck weaponless when things go wrong—which, in R.E.P.O., they definitely will.
