SCUM How to Treat & Cure Infections
Written by Rahul Gupta
To treat an infection in SCUM, remove dirty gear, apply clean bandages, take antibiotics, and rest. The infection will go away as the bacteria level drops to zero.
You can tell a wound is infected if it looks red or swollen, or your character shows a fever. If the bacteria icon appears on the wound in your health panel, that means it is already infected.
Step 1: Remove Dirty Items
Take off any dirty clothes or bandages near the wound. Dirty gear keeps adding bacteria and can stop the wound from healing.
Step 2: Disinfect the Wound
Use clean bandages, alcohol, or antiseptic rags. Reapply if the wound reopens or stays dirty. Keeping it clean is the first step to stopping the infection from spreading.
Step 3: Use Antibiotics or Garlic
Take antibiotics to raise your immune system. Garlic also works if antibiotics are not available. You may need more than one dose depending on how infected the wound is.
Step 4: Rest Until Bacteria Is Gone
Sit or lie down and watch your health tab. Once bacteria drops to zero, the wound will change from infected to stabilizing, then start healing.
Healing will not happen if you keep moving, so take time to rest and keep the wound clean.
Final Blurb
Infections in SCUM will not go away on their own. You need to clean the wound, take antibiotics or garlic, and rest. Keep gear clean and watch your health tab to make sure the bacteria stays down.
