Ubisoft Reveals First Assassin’s Creed Shadows Expansion: “Claws of Awaji”
Although Ubisoft has once again delayed Assassin’s Creed Shadows, there’s at least some good news about its first DLC.
Recently, Ubisoft announced that the game’s launch would be pushed to March 20, aiming to improve its quality. However, many fans remain skeptical, especially since Ubisoft is facing financial troubles and even exploring the possibility of selling the company. Despite the setbacks, there’s some excitement surrounding the game’s first expansion, reportedly titled “Claws of Awaji.”
Details about the DLC appeared briefly on the game’s Steam page but were quickly taken down. According to Insider Gaming, players who pre-order the game may get access to bonus content, including a special mission and the Claws of Awaji expansion. This expansion is expected to offer over 10 hours of additional gameplay in a new region, likely Awaji Island. It will also feature new weapons, gear, abilities, and skills.
While it’s unclear whether pre-ordering will be the only way to access the DLC, Ubisoft has faced criticism in the past for similar exclusivity. Since the Steam listing was removed, it’s possible they are revising how they present this offer.
Fans are hopeful that Ubisoft can meet expectations after several delays. With its troubled recent history and a series of disappointing game launches, the company can’t afford another flop. Hopefully, Assassin’s Creed Shadows will finally deliver the experience that long-time players are waiting for.
