Bonus XP (BXP) in RuneScape 3 that allows you to earn extra experience in your skills. It’s a great way to level up faster, but understanding how it works can help you get the most out of it.

What Is Bonus XP?

Bonus XP doubles the experience you gain when training a skill. For example, if an activity normally gives 100 XP, and you have Bonus XP available in that skill, you will earn 200 XP (100 base XP + 100 Bonus XP).

Bonus XP does not directly train your skills but adds extra XP when you perform activities. It is stored separately for each skill.

How Do You Get Bonus XP?

You can earn Bonus XP in several ways:

1. Events and Promotions:

   • Participating in events like Double XP or seasonal promotions often rewards Bonus XP.

   • Promotions on Treasure Hunter frequently award Bonus XP for specific skills.

2. Stars and Lamps:

   • Items like prismatic stars and skill-specific stars on Treasure Hunter add Bonus XP to chosen skills.

   • Some lamps also offer Bonus XP instead of direct XP.

3. Skilling Outfits and Auras:

   • Certain skilling outfits, like the Shark Outfit for Fishing or Lumberjack Outfit for Woodcutting, can provide Bonus XP as a reward.

   • Auras like Wisdom Aura can boost XP earned, indirectly saving your Bonus XP.

4. Daily Challenges and Rewards:
   Completing daily challenges can award Bonus XP for specific skills.

5. Purchase with Oddments:
   Bonus XP stars can sometimes be purchased from the Oddments Store during promotions.

How Is Bonus XP Used?

1. Skill-Specific:
   Bonus XP is stored separately for each skill. For example, you may have 100,000 Bonus XP in Woodcutting and 50,000 in Mining. It only applies when you train the specific skill.

2. Automatic Use:
   When you train a skill, Bonus XP is automatically applied to double the base XP gained, as long as there is Bonus XP available.

3. Cannot Be Used in Certain Activities:
   Bonus XP does not work in some activities, such as:

   • Dungeoneering rewards

   • Slayer Bounty rewards

   • Any activity where XP is earned as a reward, not directly through training

How to Check Your Bonus XP

To see how much Bonus XP you have:

1. Open your Skills Tab.

2. Hover over the skill you’re interested in.

3. It will display the amount of Bonus XP available for that skill.

When to Use Bonus XP

1. During Double XP Events:

   • Bonus XP stacks with Double XP, making it even more powerful. For example, instead of 100 XP, you’ll earn 300 XP (100 base XP + 100 Bonus XP + 100 from Double XP).

2. On Expensive Skills:
   Use Bonus XP on skills that are expensive or slow to train, such as Construction, Crafting, or Invention.

3. Quick Skilling:
   Pair Bonus XP with efficient methods, like portable skilling stations, to maximize the amount of XP you gain.

Tips for Maximizing Bonus XP

• Save for Expensive Levels:
  Use Bonus XP for higher levels where training requires more XP per level.

• Use Portable Skilling Stations:
  These stations increase your XP gain and save resources, letting your Bonus XP go further.

• Combine with XP Boosters:
  Pair your Bonus XP with auras, pulse cores, or other XP-boosting effects to maximize your gains.
