All PEAK Enemies and Monsters Guide

Written by Jason B.

The game PEAK isn’t filled with traditional survival enemies and monsters, but a few creatures will make your climb harder. Some are minor annoyances, others can end your run completely if you’re not careful.

Bees

Bees show up around beehives in the jungle biome.

If you get too close, the hive activates and bees start chasing you. They poison on contact, and their speed is inconsistent. Some barely give chase, others feel like heat-seeking missiles.

You can’t fight back, so your best bet is to sprint in big circles until they give up or get stuck. Climbing while swarmed is risky, since it slows you down a lot.

In multiplayer, one player can kite the bees while the others loot the hive safely.

Scoutmaster

The Scoutmaster is PEAK’s most dangerous enemy, full stop.

It’s summoned in one of two ways: either you use the Scoutmaster’s Bugle, or you climb too far ahead of your team during a group expedition. Either way, it targets whoever triggered it and will chase them across the mountain.

There’s no way to kill it.

The Scoutmaster disappears after about a minute, but during that time you need to stay alive. Triggering it, whether solo or by accident in co-op, unlocks the Mentorship Badge and gives the Inverted Eyes cosmetic.

If you're solo and you blow the bugle, you get max stamina... but the Scoutmaster comes for you.

Tick

Ticks are small parasites that dig into your leg and poison you slowly over time.

You usually won’t notice until poison starts building with no clear source. In co-op, teammates can see it and press E to yank it off. If you’re solo, crouch and interact once the Tick swells up.

You can also climb to a higher point and drop to a lower ledge, which makes your leg easier to see during the landing animation.

After removing a Tick, it becomes an item. Yes, you can eat it. It counts as a “berry” and can help you progress the Foraging Bond achievement if you're low on real food.

Sea Urchins

Sea urchins are one of the first real hazards you’ll come across in the early biomes.

Touching one poisons you instantly. Antidotes can sometimes be found in luggage, but avoiding the sea urchin entirely is the smarter play.

If you do get poisoned, try to stop moving and find a safe ledge. Movement makes the condition worse, and falling mid-poison is a death sentence.

Jellyfish

Jellyfish are less dangerous than they look, but they’ll still mess you up.

They aren’t poisonous, but stepping on one causes you to slip. That slip animation can toss you right off the side if it happens mid-climb or near a ledge.

These usually show up in water sections, so watch your footing when wading through shallow pools.

Final Blurb

There aren’t many enemies in PEAK, but every creature serves a brutal purpose. Bees punish greed, jellyfish punish clumsiness, ticks sneak poison into your run, and the Scoutmaster ends careers. The game doesn’t waste threats, and you shouldn’t waste your chances.

Stay sharp, stay low, and don’t climb ahead unless you’re ready to be hunted.
