This guide ranks every major weapon in RuneScape: Dragonwilds, based on power, usefulness, and how much of a pain they are to get.
S-Tier Weapons (Best Options)
Abyssal Whip
Fast, brutal, and can trap enemies. Its Bleed stacks melt through health bars. Hard to get since you need to beat an Abyssal Demon, but absolutely worth it.
Thane's Authority
A massive axe with huge burst damage. You can craft it after farming Garou Thanes for the recipe. If you like the "one swing, one corpse" approach, this is it.
Staff of Light
Top-tier for mages. Insane rune scaling, and it just looks cool. You’ll need to finish a quest and find the recipe in the Highlands vault.
Blightwood Longbow
Best bow in the game right now. It hits hard, fires fast, and stacks well with good arrows. Just be ready to collect rare materials and craft it yourself.
A-Tier Weapons (Solid)
Iron Sword
Easier to make than most top-tier weapons, but still packs a punch. Great damage and block. If you’re using melee and want consistency, this is your go-to.
Dragonbone Dagger
Smaller, faster, and crit-focused. It's a little overshadowed by bigger weapons, but it's strong if you build around speed.
Crystal Bow
Not as hard-hitting as the Blightwood, but easier to access. Comes with a fun Shattershot ability that causes splash damage. A great mid-late ranged option.
Draconic Staff
A close second to Staff of Light. Requires a good stash of rare materials but deals strong elemental magic damage.
B-Tier Weapons (Situational)
Chieftain's Blade
A good starter weapon with a full 5-hit combo. Doesn’t hold up late game, but it’ll carry you for a while.
Bronze Warhammer
Hits hard, but it’s slow. Great if you’re fighting staggered enemies or want a bit of blunt-force trauma in your life.
Oak Longbow
Nice ranged option in the mid-game. Not flashy, but does the job. Combine it with Fang Arrows for bonus damage.
Oak Battlestaff
Decent for magic users early on. You’ll want to swap it out for something better eventually, but it fills the gap fine.
C-Tier Weapons (Early-Game)
Stone Club
Your first weapon. About as exciting as it sounds. Replace it fast.
Ash Shortbow
Craftable early on and better than nothing. Combine with Stone Arrows until you unlock better bows.
Ash Battlestaff
The beginner’s magic stick. Deals okay damage, but you’ll want to move on as soon as you get Oak or Crystal variants.
Final Blurb
Most of the best weapons take effort to unlock—and you’ll definitely feel the power jump when you equip them. Still, don’t stress too much if you’re rocking B-Tier gear early on. Everything in Dragonwilds hits hard. The trick is hitting harder.
