Blue Prince: Tips and Tricks Game Guide

Blue Prince doesn’t care if you’re confused. In fact, it kind of wants you to be. Between the randomized rooms, limited steps, weird symbols, and a house that keeps changing its mind, it’s easy to feel like the manor is trolling you. But fear not — here are some simple tips to make your time in Mount Holly a little less baffling.
Don’t Skip Dead Ends
Dead end rooms like Closets or Storerooms are often your best friends — not really because they’re helpful, but because they can help in getting out of the way. If you’re forced to place a room in a spot that doesn’t connect to anything else, use a dead end so it doesn’t clog up your useful options later.
Fill Out The Early Ranks First
Instead of rushing straight for the top of the estate like a speedrunner on a caffeine bender, take your time. Build outward on the lower floors to create options, gather items, and stock up on Keys and Gems. It makes the climb much easier when you're not boxed in by random hallways and locked doors.
Always Pick New Rooms When You Can
Each room in Blue Prince holds a secret, even if it doesn’t look like it. Prioritize rooms you haven’t drafted before. If it’s a safe, a clue, or a weird robot hiding behind a potted plant, there’s always something to find if you’re paying attention.
Don’t Waste Gems and Keys Early
If you blow through your Gems in Rank 2 just to open a room with a chair and a plant, you’re going to regret it. Save those valuable resources for the higher ranks where the costs (and rewards) get steep. The deeper you go, the more likely you’ll wish you’d saved up.
Get Paranoid — In A Good Way
Everything in Blue Prince means something. That strange statue facing the wall? The upside-down bird in the picture? The fact that every hallway creaks a little too loud? All of it might be a clue. Or maybe it's nothing. But assume it’s something anyway.
Puzzle Too Hard? Move On
Some puzzles need multiple rooms to make sense. If you’re staring at a board of squiggly lines and getting nowhere, walk away and come back later. The clue might be three rooms (or days) away. No shame in letting your future self deal with it.
Drafting Rooms Gets Easier Over Time
At first, it’ll feel like every room you draw is trying to ruin your life. But later on, you’ll start finding Upgrade Disks, Allowance Tokens, and other ways to rig the system. The more you explore, the more permanent perks you’ll unlock to make each day smoother.
Use The Coat Room
The Coat Room lets you stash a single item between days. That means if you find a super useful tool — like a Lockpick or Keycard — but don’t have a use for it right away, just store it. Future you will thank you.
Leave One Door Open
Always try to leave a few doors unexplored in the lower floors. If you get stuck or run out of Gems/Keys later, you can backtrack to a cheaper room and keep going. Having a backup path is way better than being forced to end your day early with 20+ steps still left.
Final Blurb
Blue Prince rewards curiosity, patience, and maybe just a pinch of obsession. If you feel like the house is laughing at you, that’s probably because it is. But hey — once you start thinking like the house, everything clicks into place. Or falls apart in a slightly more interesting way.
