Does Item Duplication Work in Oblivion Remastered

If you were hoping to turn one potion into a hundred or rain flawless gems all over Cyrodiil, I’ve got some bad news… The famous item duplication glitches from the original Oblivion do not work in Oblivion Remastered. Bethesda clearly remembered how we all broke the economy back in 2006—and this time, they actually fixed it.

No More Scroll Duplication in Oblivion Remastered

In the classic version, you could equip a stack of scrolls, click them twice, drop an item, and—voila!—watch a pile of duplicates appear at your feet. It was beautiful, it was broken, and it’s gone. In Oblivion Remastered, trying this trick just drops a single item like a law-abiding citizen.

Paintbrush Staircases? Also Gone.

If you were planning to defy gravity with floating paintbrushes, don’t bother. The quirky "hovering paintbrush" glitch has also been patched. Paintbrushes now fall like any normal object—because apparently physics matters in 2025.

At launch, there are no known duplication glitches in Oblivion Remastered. Bethesda locked things down pretty tight. That said, this is still an Elder Scrolls game—so if there’s a way to break it, someone will find it eventually.
