How to Boost Smithing in OSRS
In Old School RuneScape (OSRS), boosting your Smithing level temporarily allows you to craft higher-level items, complete quests, or access new content. Here is how to boost smithing heading into 2025.
1. Dwarven Stout
Effect: Provides a +1 visible boost to both Smithing and Mining levels.
How to Obtain: Available in various taverns and inns throughout Gielinor.
Note: Also decreases Attack, Strength, and Defence by 2 or more.
2. Mature Dwarven Stout
Effect: Grants a +2 visible boost to Smithing and Mining levels.
How to Obtain: Can be brewed by players or obtained during specific quests.
Note: Brewing takes up to 5 days and requires the Forgettable Tale of a Drunken Dwarf quest.
3. Kovac's Grog
Effect: Provides a +4 visible boost to Smithing.
How to Obtain: Purchase from the Giant's Foundry reward shop for 300 Foundry Reputation points.
Note: Easily obtainable and offers a significant boost.
4. Spicy Stew (Orange Spice)
Effect: Offers a random boost ranging from -5 to +5 in Smithing.
How to Obtain: After completing Evil Dave's portion of the Recipe for Disaster quest, combine stew with up to 3 doses of orange spice.
Note: The boost is unpredictable; it may increase or decrease your Smithing level.
5. Smithing Skillcape
Effect: When operated, provides a +1 visible boost to Smithing.
How to Obtain: Available to players who have achieved level 99 Smithing.
Note: Useful for minor boosts when needed.
Additional Tips:
Preserve Prayer: Activating the Preserve prayer slows the rate at which boosted stats decrease, extending the duration of your Smithing boost.
Stacking Boosts: Visible boosts do not stack; only the highest boost will apply.
Planning: Use boosts strategically to meet level requirements for quests or to craft items just above your current Smithing level.
Happy Smithing my friend!
