How to Boost Thieving in OSRS
In Old School RuneScape (OSRS), you can temporarily boost your Thieving level using a few different methods. Here are some options to boost your Thieving level as we head into 2025:
1. Spicy Stew (Yellow Spice)
Boost Amount: -5 to +5 (random)
How to Obtain: After completing the "Evil Dave" subquest in "Recipe for Disaster," add up to 3 doses of yellow spice to a stew.
Important Note: The effect is random; it can either increase or decrease your Thieving level.
2. Bandit's Brew
Boost Amount: +1
How to Obtain: Purchase from the Kebab Seller in Pollnivneach for 650 coins.
Important Note: This drink provides a small boost and is easily accessible.
3. Thieving Cape
Boost Amount: +1
How to Obtain: Available to players who have achieved level 99 Thieving.
Important Note: Wearing the Thieving Cape allows you to temporarily boost your Thieving level by 1.
4. Dodgy Necklace
Effect: Provides a 25% chance to avoid being stunned and damaged when failing a pickpocket attempt.
How to Obtain: Crafted using a silver bar and a cut opal, requiring level 11 Crafting, or purchased from other players.
Important Note: While it doesn't boost your Thieving level, it increases your success rate and reduces damage taken during pickpocketing.
5. Gloves of Silence
Effect: Increases your success rate when pickpocketing by 5%.
How to Obtain: Requires level 54 Hunter to craft or can be purchased from other players.
Important Note: The effect does not stack with the Ardougne Diary bonuses.
6. Ardougne Diary Bonuses
Effect: Completing the Ardougne Medium Diary grants a 10% increased chance of successful pickpocketing in Ardougne. Completing the Hard Diary extends this bonus to all of Gielinor.
How to Obtain: Complete the respective Ardougne Diary tasks.
Important Note: These bonuses improve your pickpocketing success rate but do not directly boost your Thieving level.
Extra Tips
Combining Boosts: You can combine the Dodgy Necklace and Gloves of Silence to maximize your pickpocketing efficiency.
Plan Ahead: Use these boosts strategically when attempting higher-level thieving activities or quests requiring a higher Thieving level.
And that’s all! Happy Thieving (just don’t get caught)!
