How to Break Down Items | Avowed Guide

Breaking down extra gear you no longer need is a great way to gather materials for upgrades in Avowed. It’s a simple process that can be done from the inventory menu. Here’s a quick guide to show you how on both PC and Xbox.
Steps to Break Down Equipment:
Find Unwanted Gear
Look for armor or weapons that you don’t need or plan to use. You can break these down for materials to upgrade your better equipment.
Open Your Inventory
Pause the game and navigate to your Inventory menu to see all your items.
Select the Item to Break Down
Highlight the armor or weapon you want to break down. Check its description to see which materials it will give you when broken down.
Break It Down
Hold X on console or R on PC to break the item down into its materials.
Additional Tips:
Upgraded Gear: If you break down a piece of upgraded gear, you will get most of the materials back, though not all of them.
Don’t Sell Excess Gear: It’s often better to break down excess gear instead of selling it for a small amount of gold.
