In Avowed, you’ll encounter various optional actions that can make the world feel a bit more real. One such action is throwing a coin into the pond during the Untimely End quest. While this doesn’t affect any gameplay or the main story, it adds to the role-playing experience if you’re into that kind of thing… Or just want to for fun. Here’s how you can toss the coin on PC and Xbox.

How to Throw the Coin Into the Pond

  1. Acquire the Coin

    • During the Untimely End quest, you will receive a coin from the Perturbed Patron outside the Watcher's House.

  2. Reach the Pond

    • After speaking to the Watcher, head towards the pond near her house. The correct spot to throw the coin is by the mossy rocks in the water.

  3. Swim to the Spot

    • You need to be in the water to interact with the prompt. Swim into the pond near the mossy rocks, as the prompt won't appear if you're standing on the shore.

  4. Throw the Coin

    • Once you’re in the right spot, a prompt will appear to throw the coin. Press the designated button to complete the action:

      • PC: Press the F key

      • Xbox: Press the X button

What Does Throwing the Coin Do?

  • This action is part of a tradition in the area to express gratitude for the Watcher’s readings.

  • It’s mainly for role-playing purposes and doesn’t impact gameplay or story progression.

That’s it! You’ve thrown the coin into the pond as part of Avowed’s tradition.
