How to Fix the Arena Bug in Oblivion Remastered

You show up at the Arena. You talk to Owyn. He says to come back between 9am and 9pm... even when it’s 9am to 9pm. Welcome to the classic Oblivion Remastered Arena bug.
Here’s what’s going on... and how to (maybe) fix it.
What Causes the Arena Bug?
Most reports point to this:
Wearing the Arena Raiment outside the Arena.
Equipping Bound Armor or other equipment over the Arena Raiment.
Doing both, then not returning to the Arena for a long time.
This can break Owyn’s dialogue. He thinks it’s always the wrong time, no matter what you do.
Known Fixes That Sometimes Work
Try these in order. None are guaranteed... but they’ve worked for some players:
1. Unequip Everything
Talk to Owyn while wearing no gear at all. Not even rings or amulets.
2. Swap Armor
If step 1 fails, equip regular armor (not Arena Raiment) and talk to him again.
3. Sleep Elsewhere
Sleep for 24–72 hours in a completely different location, then return.
4. Re-equip Arena Raiment
Put the Arena Raiment back on after trying the steps above. Then talk to him again.
5. Try the Basement Door
Make sure you are using the Combatant’s Door from the Arena basement... not the spectator/betting area.
Fixes That Don’t Work (But People Keep Suggesting)
Talking to him naked while summoning a creature.
Cycling through every hour between 9am and 9pm repeatedly.
Restarting the game (doesn’t clear the bug).
Waiting out other quests or clearing side content.
Can You Fix It with Recoats or Mods?
No. Recoats (respec items) and mods don’t currently solve this specific bug on PS5 or other consoles. On PC, there might be future community fixes, but nothing reliable yet.
Last Resort
If none of the above works...
Finish the rest of your playthrough.
Start a new character just for Arena and Fighters Guild achievements.
Or embrace chaos and go on an Imperial City rampage (you won’t be the first).
Final Blurb
The Arena bug is one of the worst softlocks in Oblivion Remastered right now. A few lucky players fix it with armor swaps or nudity. Most just learn to love the save file they have... or start planning their revenge on the entire Arena staff.
