This lets you hold down your swing button for a heavy hit that deals more damage. The goal with excellent mining is to wear down the node to low HP, then finish it with a charged attack to trigger an "Excellent" hit.
It’s kind of like setting up a finisher... just with rocks.
Timing Matters
To get an excellent hit:
Find the weak point using the skill.
Attack the node until the health bar is very low, but don’t break it yet.
Use your Charge Swing for the final blow.
If timed correctly, you’ll get an “Excellent” message and bonus materials will fly out. If not, you’ll probably just shatter the node and walk away with the bare minimum.
Better Tools, Better Results
Excellent hits are tied to how much damage you can do on that final swing.
