Where to Find Rune Essence & Essence Geysers

You can collect Rune Essence from Rune Essence Geysers, which are found mostly in:

• Temple Woods

• Bramblemead Valley

They’re easy to spot—they look like glowing holes in the ground with mist and floating stones above them. When you see those, you’re in the right place.

How to Harvest Rune Essence

There are two ways to gather it:

1. Mine the Rocks Near the Geyser

   • Just walk up and use a pickaxe like any other ore

2. Mine the Floating Rocks

   • Use a ranged weapon (bow or staff), or

   • Use the Rockplosion spell (unlocks at Runecrafting level 11)

   • Rockplosion requires 15 Earth Runes and 5 Fire Runes to cast

These floating rocks give you extra Rune Essence and level your Runecrafting a bit faster.

What You Use Rune Essence For in Dragon Wilds?

Rune Essence is the base material for crafting all Runes in the game using a Rune Altar.

Rune Altar Recipe:

• 4 Rune Essence

• 12 Stone

Each Rune Essence gives you 10 runes when used in a Rune Altar.

Runes You Can Craft (and When)

Here are the runes you can unlock as your Runecrafting level increases:

• Air Rune (Level 1) – Basic spells and Windstep

• Astral Rune (Level 1) – Used for special abilities

• Earth Rune (Level 11) – Powers Rocksplosion, Detect Ore, Summon Shelter

• Fire Rune (Level 13) – For fire-based spells and Superheat

• Law Rune (Level 16) – Unlocks teleport spells (Lodestone travel)

• Nature Rune (Level 18) – Used for spells like Magical Mending and Internal Alchemy

• Fire Spirit (Level 20) – A light source spell

• Essential Strength (Level 27) – Not a rune, but unlocks a passive that reduces Rune Essence weight by 50%
