Either way, let's solve this puzzle before frustration sets in. Here’s how to get and use the Garden’s Sarcophagus Key in Avowed.

Where to Find the Sarcophagus Key

The Sarcophagus Key is hidden somewhere in the Garden, Avowed’s late-game region. If you’re thinking, "Great, another fetch quest," don’t worry—this one’s not too painful.

• Find the Pool Room

  • As you wander through the Garden, you’ll come across a chamber with a small, perfectly round pool of water. It’s impossible to miss.

  • You’ll know you’re close when you pass Kai’s hallucination chamber, where Tama is lying on a bed, looking dramatic.

• Fight Off Some Uninvited Guests

  • The moment you step in, Skeletons and Moon Spiders will drop in to ruin your day.

  • Take them out. You’ve done this a hundred times by now.

• Take a Swim (Not for Fun, Sadly)

  • Head through the far door at the end of the chamber and dive into a deep pool.

  • At the bottom, you’ll have two choices: right or left. Pick left—because left is always the right choice, obviously.

• Burn Some Brambles & Get Creative with Ice

  • Once you surface, you’ll see a rock ledge—climb up.

  • A giant bramble is blocking your way, because nature just loves making things difficult.

  • Burn it down using Kai’s fire ability or a Magran’s Fury grenade.

  • Then, make yourself a nice little ice platform to cross the water. Magic is great.

• Find the Key

  • You’ll exit the cave and see a tempting ledge to jump off. Don’t do it.

  • Instead, turn left, and you’ll find a dead body (because of course). Loot it, and voilà—you have the Sarcophagus Key!

How to Use the Sarcophagus Key

Now that you have the key, let’s put it to use before it gets lost in your inventory forever.

1. Start at the Enclosed Grove Camp

   • This is the main camp in the Garden area. You’ve probably rested here, wondering why everything in this game is out to kill you.

2. Head Southwest

   • From the Adra Waystone, turn southwest and go through the door leading back to the Party Camp.

   • Turn left and go down the stairs—because treasure always hides in inconvenient places.

3. Look for the Glowing Alcove

   • At the bottom of the stairs, there’s a small sunken area with a suspicious golden glow.

   • Head inside, and at the back, you’ll find the sarcophagus that’s been mocking you all this time.

4. Unlock It & Claim Your Reward

   • Use the Sarcophagus Key to open it.

   • Inside, you’ll find Spiritmender Armor, one of the best medium armor sets in the game.

   • Feel free to do a victory dance—nobody’s watching (probably).

This armor is perfect for essence-based builds and will make your life much easier. Here’s what you get:

• Damage Reduction: 20%

• Additional Damage Reduction: 71

• Max Stamina: -35 (because nothing good comes without a cost)

• Max Essence: -35

• Essence Draining: 2% of your attack damage is restored as Essence.

• Luminous Adra Battery: +100 Maximum Essence.
