If you're running a magic build in Dragonwilds and feel like your robes look a little too much like a potato sack, it might be time to step up. The Dragonkin Mage Armor Set is one of the most powerful sets for spellcasters, and it looks just as good as it performs. But of course, getting it isn’t as simple as asking nicely.
Where to Find It
You’ll need to head into a vault dungeon in the Stormtouch Highlands, which is not exactly the friendliest spot on the map. Expect lots of traps, enemies that aren’t thrilled to see you, and a layout that was clearly designed by someone who hates shortcuts.
Place a fast travel point just outside the entrance. Trust me, you’ll want the exit plan.
The Statues You Need
Inside the vault, your job is to find three Dragonkin effigy statues. Each one teaches you how to craft a different piece of the set:
Statue 1: Easy to spot. Rewards you with the recipe for Dragonkin Mage Hood.
Statue 2: A little trickier. You’ll need to get through some traps to reach it. Gives you the Dragonkin Mage Robe Legs.
Statue 3: Deep inside the vault. This one unlocks the Dragonkin Mage Robes (Body) and completes the set.
Crafting the Armor
Once you’ve unlocked the full set, you’ll need to gather materials and use a Crafting Table to build the armor. Here’s what you’re looking for:
Padded Cloth (made using Rough Cloth + Wool Cloth at a loom)
Hard Leather
Vault Shards
Various Metal Ingots
If you don’t already have a Crafting Table, you’ll unlock the basic version by talking to Doric, who hangs out near the starting area. He’ll ask for Ash Logs, and once you bring them, you’ll unlock the ability to build the table.
You can also make Portable Crafting Stations later, which let you craft while out in the world—because sometimes the loot goblin inside just can’t wait.
Set Bonuses
Once you’ve got the full Dragonkin Mage Armor Set crafted and equipped, here’s what you get:
50% reduced stamina regen delay
33% faster magic conjuring
15% increased magic critical damage
Also, it looks amazing. The dragonkin may have been egotistical sorcerer kings, but they had taste.
Final Blurb
If you're willing to push through deadly traps, angry monsters, and a vault that wants you dead, the Dragonkin Mage Set is more than worth it. It’s flashy, powerful, and lets you cast spells like a boss with a point to prove. Just don’t forget to bring healing items. And patience. You’ll need both.
