The Blight Bomb Stabilizer is a big upgrade in Journey to the Savage Planet, letting you carry corrosive bombs that melt amber shells and open new paths. You’ll need this tool to keep progressing through the game, especially if you want to reach the third biome.

Here’s how to get it and use it.

What You’ll Need First

Before you go hunting for the Blight Bomb:

  • Launch Thruster – Gives you an extra air boost

  • Advanced Proton Tether – Lets you use grapple points

Both of these upgrades are found in the Itching Fields, so make sure to grab them first. Without them, you can’t access the boss or the bomb.

Where to Go

  1. Head to the Festering Chasm teleporter in the Itching Fields

  2. Take the ramp up and look for an alien marker near a Launch Thruster area

  3. Follow the magnetic grind rails up the cliff

  4. Grapple and zip through the upper path until you reach the Lair of the Matriarch teleporter

This path is easy to miss, so scan everything and look for grapple spots if you're stuck.

How to Beat the Floopsnoot Queen

Once you enter the lair, the Floopsnoot Queen shows up. She’s big, angry, and her babies never stop spawning. Here’s the quick breakdown:

Phase One:

  • Shoot the glowing eye to start the fight

  • Target glowing yellow weak spots on her body

  • Use your grapple to climb her and find each one

Phase Two and Three:

  • Weak points get covered in amber

  • Use nearby Blight Bombs to melt the amber before shooting

  • Bombs respawn around the arena, so keep moving

  • You can heal at three vitality plants between waves—just wait for them to regrow

Pro tip: The queen only enters the next phase when you shoot her main eye again, so take your time if you're low on health.

Getting the Blight Bomb Stabilizer

Once the queen is down, a hole opens near her head. Drop in.

  • Inside the Caustic Altar, you’ll find a special extract

  • Go back to your base and use the 3D printer to build the Blight Bomb Stabilizer

  • This lets you carry Blight Bombs for the rest of the game, no more temporary throws

There's also a teleporter nearby that takes you to the Elevated Realm, the third major zone.

What the Blight Bomb Does

Once equipped, the Blight Bomb:

  • Lets you melt amber blobs blocking doors or item caches

  • Is required for certain puzzles and boss fights

  • Helps you complete shrine challenges in later areas

It’s also essential for finishing key objectives and accessing secret routes throughout the game.

Final Blurb

The Blight Bomb Stabilizer is your golden ticket to half the locked-up parts of the planet. Getting it means surviving one of the tougher early bosses and unlocking a whole new biome. Just follow the grind rails, keep your footing in the Floopsnoot fight, and don’t forget to restock your Blight Bombs often. Amber doesn’t stand a chance.
