Wormzilla is the first true boss in Revenge of the Savage Planet, and the game does a great job of making it feel huge, loud, and mildly traumatizing. It shows up early on Xephyr and makes you pay attention fast. This fight has a few stages, and if you're not ready to deflect projectiles or use Goo smartly, it'll chew you up… Literally.
Here’s how to beat this big bad worm.
How to Defeat Wormzilla
There are three different phases when it comes to fighting Wormzilla. We’ll go over each one.
Phase One: First Encounter
You’ll first meet Wormzilla while chasing after the Magnetic Fork. It bursts from the sand after a bit of slow tension-building and immediately starts attacking.
Watch the dust trail across the sand. That shows you where it’s burrowing next.
When it pops out and spits fire or poison blobs, dodge the fire and shoot the poison blobs to knock them back. That’s how you deal damage early on.
After a few successful deflects, the worm backs off. You live. For now.
Phase Two: The Rematch
You’ll run into it again soon—this time deeper in Xephyr. This round is a little trickier.
The arena has patches of Ferrous Goo. Spray these with your Power Hose if they’re not already charged.
Lure Wormzilla over the goo patches. When it touches them, it gets stunned and drops the Magnetic Fork.
Pick up the fork. But heads up—Wormzilla will immediately swallow you whole.
Phase Three: Inside Wormzilla
Yep, you’re now inside the worm. The game doesn’t hold back.
Use the Magnetic Fork to fire at glowing weak spots inside its body
After enough hits, you’ll blast your way out
Once you escape, Wormzilla tries one last stand. Just keep using the Magnetic Fork to launch charged projectiles back at it. After a few hits, it finally goes down.
Final Blurb
Wormzilla is your welcome gift to the desert hellscape of Xephyr. Dodge the burrow trail, deflect what you can, and make good use of that Magnetic Fork once you’ve earned it. If you play smart and don’t panic, the worm goes down hard.
