If you're seeing other Nikkis running past you in the world it’s probably because the game quietly stuck you into co-op mode. Here’s how it happened, and how to get out.

Why You're in Co-Op Mode

Early in the game, you’re asked during a short dialogue if you want to “explore with others” or “explore alone.”

If you clicked explore with others, you’re now in co-op mode by default. This setting doesn’t reset unless you go into the menu and change it yourself.

How to Leave Co-Op

  1. Open the Main Menu
Press ESC on PC or tap the menu icon on mobile.

  2. Go to Settings
Navigate to the Settings menu, then select the “Other” tab.

  3. Switch to Solo Mode
Look for an option labeled “Explore Alone” or similar. Click or tap it to switch.

  4. Completely Restart the Game
The solo setting might only takes effect after you fully close the game and launch it again.

About the Sea of Stars

Even after switching to solo, you’ll still see player silhouettes while in the Sea of Stars. That area is designed to show other Nikkis no matter what, and right now there’s no way to disable it. Once you return to Miraland, those shadows should go away if your solo setting is active.

Final Blurb

Co-op mode sneaks up on you through one quick dialogue box. But it’s easy to switch back. Head to your settings, pick “Explore Alone,” and restart the game. Just know the Sea of Stars doesn’t care what you picked — the ghosts of other players will still be there, watching you try to mind your own business.
