How to Make and Use the Snowballs in Helldivers 2

The Snowball in Helldivers 2 is a secret weapon that’s as fun as it is powerful. It might seem silly, but it can do serious damage—especially to big enemies (someitmes one-shotting them). Here's how to find, make, and use this cold weapon.

How to Get a Snowball

Snowballs aren’t in your gear by default. You have to find and "make" them in snowy areas. Here’s how:

  1. Find Deep Snow: Look for big piles of snow in cold maps.

  2. Lay Down or Crouch: Stop moving and lay down or crouch in the snow for about 20 seconds.

  3. Press Your Use Button (E): Smash the button while staying still. If nothing happens, try another snow pile.

It might take some time, but eventually, you’ll get one.

Snowball Details

  • Damage: Small enemies get stunned, but big ones (like Bile Titans) can take massive damage.

  • Throw Speed: You can throw snowballs as fast as you pick them up.

  • Ammo: Snowballs come from the snow around you. No ammo packs can refill them.

  • Reload Time: It depends on how fast you find another snowball.

  • Recoil: None, but hitting an enemy slows you down a bit.

Tips for Using Snowballs

  1. Practice Your Aim: Snowballs arc when you throw them. Aim a little below your target.

  2. Great for Big Enemies: Save snowballs for large enemies. They take the most damage.

  3. Can’t Break Objects: Don’t waste snowballs on things like mines or towers—they don’t work.

  4. Fun with Friends: You can hit teammates for laughs. It won’t hurt them but might cause chaos.

What to Remember

  • Not Always Easy to Find: If snowballs don’t show up in one pile, move to another.

  • Only in Snowy Areas: No snow means no snowballs.

  • Goes Through Friendly Shields: Snowballs can pass through your teammates' shields.
