Switching ammo types in Helldivers2 can feel clunky, but here’s a quick and easy guide to make it smoother by binding the action to a single key or button.

Steps to Set Up One-Press Ammo Switching:

• Go to Settings:

  • Open the game, then head to the Options menu.

  • Choose either Controller or Mouse & Keyboard, depending on what you use.

• Change Bindings:

  • Under the Change Bindings section, navigate to the Combat Tab.

  • Scroll down until you find the Weapon Wheel settings.

• Adjust Weapon Wheel Settings:

  • Set the Open Wheel action from Long Press to Press.

  • Bind Open Wheel and Weapon Wheel Right to the same key or button.

• How It Works:

  • Now, whenever you press the chosen key or button, it will both open the weapon wheel and switch ammo types in one action.

This method works for the SG20 Halt’s Flesh and Stun Rounds, as well as for the Auto Cannon’s FL Rounds.
